Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Ready in minutes: You can make this Valentine’s Cocktail in literally 5 minutes.
  • It’s creamy but refreshing: I love that the Greek yogurt adds a silky, almost dessert-like texture while still keeping the drink light and refreshing.
  • Perfectly balanced: Sweet strawberries, floral gin, bright lime and soft vanilla blend beautifully.
  • Simple ingredients: No complicated syrups or mixers required.
  • Great for entertaining: Easy to double or batch for date night or Galentine’s Day.

Key Ingredients

See the recipe card for quantities.

  • Gin: I used Waterloo Prickly Pear & Rose Gin in this Valentine’s Cocktail. Pretty as a picture, this gin is beautifully smooth and has a delicious floral note to it.
  • Honey syrup: A mix of equal parts honey and hot water.
  • Strawberries: Use ripe, juicy berries.
  • Lime juice: Fresh squeezed is always best!
  • Greek yogurt: Use your favorite brand of plain Greek yogurt.
  • Vanilla extract: Always opt for pure vanilla extract.

Substitutions & Variations

  • Strawberry swap: Use raspberries instead. The flavor will have a slight tartness to it but will still be delicious. For another raspberry drink, try my Raspberries & Cream Mocktail
  • Sweetener options: Use agave syrup or simple syrup instead of honey syrup.
  • Dairy-free: Use a thick, unflavored dairy free or coconut yogurt instead.
  • Citrus swap: You can use freshly squeezed lemon instead.
  • Mocktail version: Sub the gin for coconut water or chamomile tea or try my Strawberry Southside Fizz Mocktail.

How to Make a Strawberry Kiss Valentine’s Cocktail

Step 1: Prep the strawberries – Remove the leaves and slice them in half or quarters.

Step 2: To a cocktail shaker – Add the strawberries and honey syrup. Muddle well until the strawberries are fully broken down.

Step 3: Add gin, lime juice, Greek yogurt, vanilla extract and ice. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until smooth and creamy.

Step 4: Strain the mixture into a glass over ice.

How to Make a Cupid’s Arrow Cocktail Garnish

You’ll use  2 gummy hearts and a short skewer. I used Brach’s Cinnamon Jelly Hearts

Place 1 heart candy on a long toothpick or skewer with the pointed edge facing out forming the tip of the arrow. Cut the other gummy candy into 3 v-shaped pieces, starting from the top of the heart. Place the 3 pieces on the other side of the skewer, spacing them out slightly as the “feather” of the arrow.

I also use this cute garnish in my The Rosé French 75.

Carolyn’s Tips

  • Shake thoroughly: Thick yogurt needs a really good shake. Make sure everything is fully combined before straining.
  • Straining: Muddled strawberries can sometimes clog your strainer. Try a fine mesh strainer if you need.
  • Make it a mocktail: Sub the gin for coconut water or chamomile tea.

Strawberry Kiss Valentine’s Cocktail FAQs

Can I make a batch of this cocktail for a party?

Multiply the recipe by the desired servings. Add all ingredients to a blender with a handful of ice. You want enough to chill the drink but not make it slushy. Serve the drink over fresh ice.

Will the yogurt curdle when mixed with lime juice?

No. When you use thick Greek yogurt and shake the cocktail well, the ingredients emulsify into a smooth, creamy drink. Vigorous shaking is the key to getting that silky, dessert-like texture.

What type of gin is best for this Valentine’s Cocktail?

A light, floral-style gin works best for this recipe. I love using Waterloo Prickly Pear & Rose Gin because its subtle botanical and fruit notes complement the strawberries perfectly. Any smooth gin with floral or citrus undertones will work beautifully.
