Bubbly French Blonde

Light, fresh, and floral, this feminine twist on the classic French 75 is a gorgeous option for Galentine’s or any fun celebration! A traditional French Blonde is a cocktail made with grapefruit juice, Lillet Blanc, gin, bitters, and elderflower liqueur. For this version, I left the bitters out, and opted for a splash of champagne for a bubbly twist!

Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is best for this cocktail. Elderflower liqueur perfectly balances out the tartness with sweet and floral flavors, and Lilet Blanc adds a fruity and herbaceous layer to the drink. Don’t forget to top this libation with a fresh grapefruit slice and edible flower!

Ingredients for the Bubble French Blonde

  • Gin: Opt for a smooth and well-balanced gin like Nolet’s.
  • Grapefruit Juice: Freshly squeezed grapefruit gives a citrusy kick. The more red a grapefruit is on the inside, the sweeter it tends to be, so choose accordingly.
  • Lillet Blanc: A light and refreshing French aperitif wine crafted with a blend of citrus, stone fruit, and honeyed botanicals.
  • Elderflower Liqueur: Infuses a sweet and floral essence into the cocktail. I like St. Germain.
  • Champagne: Top the drink with your favorite bubbly! I prefer La Marca Prosecco.
  • Grapefruit Slice, Edible Flower: Add a fresh slice of grapefruit and an edible flower for a pop of color!
