I’ve been embracing the spirit of the season with the Empress Cranberry Sparkler – a cocktail that marries the richness of Empress 1908 Gin with the festive flavors of cranberry, lemon, and vanilla. I was inspired by the glitz and glam of the holidays, so I think you’ll find this sparkling creation take center stage at your gatherings!
The Empress Cranberry Sparkler brings together the botanical complexity of Empress 1908 Gin, the sweetness of cranberry juice, the zestiness of fresh lemon, and a hint of pure vanilla extract. I used cranberry juice cocktail which is sweeter than 100% cranberry juice. If you use 100% cranberry juice, you may need to add more simple syrup. Topped with prosecco, this libation is not only a total party in every sip, but is beautiful with its indigo hue – a signature touch from Empress 1908 Gin.
This recipe comes together in a snap, and took only me 5 minutes to prepare. Whether you’re hosting a holiday party or enjoying a relaxing evening, the Empress Cranberry Sparkler is perfect for toasting to the holiday season!

Begin by adding cranberry juice, simple syrup, lemon juice, and pure vanilla extract to a cocktail glass, stirring to blend. Next, fill the glass with crushed ice.
Gently pour in the prosecco. Finally, slowly add Empress 1908 Gin into the glass, creating a gorgeous layer over the drink. If you’re feeling extra festive, garnish with a pick adorned with sugared cranberries, aromatic rosemary, and a twist of lemon!
How do I achieve that beautiful layering effect with Empress 1908 Gin?
To achieve the layering effect, pour the Empress 1908 Gin slowly over the back of a spoon or by drizzling it down the side of the glass. This gentle pouring technique helps create a distinct layer atop the sparkling cocktail.
Can I make a non-alcoholic version of the Empress Cranberry Sparkler?
To create a non-alcoholic version, omit the Empress 1908 Gin and prosecco. Increase the quantity of cranberry juice, add a splash of sparkling water, and adjust the simple syrup to taste. You’ll still enjoy the flavors with a refreshing twist.
Is there a recommended alternative for prosecco?
If you don’t have prosecco on hand, you can substitute it with another sparkling wine or champagne. Choose a dry sparkling option to maintain the balance of flavors in the Empress Cranberry Sparkler.
What’s the best way to make sugared cranberries for garnish?
To make sugared cranberries, coat fresh cranberries in simple syrup and then roll them in granulated sugar. Allow them to dry before using as a garnish.
