If you’re looking for a mocktail full of immune-boosting ingredients, look no further! This Citrus Ginger tonic is perfect for cold-season. I also loved it for nausea during my pregnancy!
It’s super easy to make, uses healthy ingredients and is super delicious. The brightness of the fresh citrus perfectly complements the zesty ginger. This tonic is my go-to before a plane ride or if I’m starting to feel a cold come on.
I like to make my own fresh ginger juice for this ginger detox tonic, but if you don’t have a juicer, run along to your nearest juice bar for a fresh batch.
If you want to drink this over a few days, batch-make the base and store it in the fridge. You can even freeze the base in ice trays and defrost them as needed.
Recipe Ingredients
- Fresh squeezed orange juice: I 100% recommend freshly squeezed orange juice vs store-bought. Orange juice is packed with vitamin C.
- Ginger juice: Freshly juiced ginger packs the most punch, but store-bought ginger shots work in a pinch.
- Honey: I recommend 100% pure honey.
- Ground turmeric: It takes some getting used to – in the same way we needed to adjust to matcha! Turmeric has curcumin, which I love for its anti-inflammatory properties.
- Fresh cracked pepper: Optional but has been known to enhance turmeric’s benefits.
- Apple cider vinegar: For its balancing and antioxidant properties.
- Sparkling water: Use plain or flavored sparkling water or club soda.
- Orange slice, edible flower: For garnish.
