With melon season lasting from May to September, I had to jump on the opportunity to whip up a delicious and refreshing cantaloupe cocktail. Nothing says summer like a bubbly cocktail made with fresh seasonal fruit. The elderflower liqueur brings a floral note that blends well with the sweetness of the cantaloupe. The fresh mint combined with the fizzy prosecco enhances the flavors and cools the palate, making this drink the perfect way to enjoy peak cantaloupe season.
Recipe Ingredients
See the recipe card for quantities.
- Elderflower Liqueur: We used St. Germain for this recipe. A non-alcoholic elderflower cordial would also work for a lower alcohol cocktail.
- Prosecco: Any dry prosecco or sparkling white wine will work. For this recipe we used Mionetto Prosecco.
- Cantaloupe puree: If you don’t want to make your own puree, you can purchase cantaloupe puree if it’s available in your area. When you make your own puree you typically don’t need to strain it but you can if you choose to.
- Mint leaves: Always use fresh mint leaves.
- Edible flowers, cantaloupe, mint leaves: Use for garnish as desired.
