Empress Watermelon Slushie

I love keeping a frozen drink on rotation during the summer months, and one I’ve been sipping on is the deliciously blended Empress Watermelon Slushie. It’s a simple and fun frosty concoction that features one of my top choices for gin – Empress 1908 Gin. Crafted using a unique blend of eight botanicals including butterfly pea blossom, ginger root, and juniper berries, this indigo-hued gin is a favorite to mix with. Frozen watermelon cubes, Aperol, gin, fresh lemon, and a touch of honey come together in a snap for this refreshing cocktail. This recipe serves 3-4, so it’s perfect for hosting a few more summertime BBQs!

Ingredients for the Empress Watermelon Slushie

  • Empress 1908 Gin: Crafted through micro-distillation in small copper pots, this gin is botanical forward and perfectly complements the other ingredients!
  • Frozen Cubed Watermelon: Frozen watermelon lends its juicy sweetness and vibrant color to the cocktail.
  • Aperol: Aperol balances the drink’s flavors and brings a hint of orange zest.
  • Lemon Juice: Fresh lemon juice is best for adding a zing to this slushie. Lime or bottled lemon works too.
  • Honey: A touch of honey adds a delicate sweetness. I like Nature Nate’s.
  • Garnish: Elevate the presentation with watermelon, a sprig of fresh mint, and a citrusy lemon slice.

How to Make the Empress Watermelon Slushie

Whipping up this slushie is quick and easy! Cubing and freezing your watermelon will take the most time.
