Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Unexpected flavor: The tangy pickle juice is fun, briny and goes really well with tequila.
  • Low carb: No added sugar but still fun and flavorful.
  • Easy to make: Made right in the bottle with simple ingredients.

Recipe Ingredients

See the recipe card for quantities.

  • Topo Chico Mineral Water: Chill before using. If you can’t find Topo Chico, another mineral or sparkling water will work.
  • Tequila: I used 818 Blanco but any good quality tequila will work great.
  • Pickles: Grab your favorite jar. I like the brands you find in the refrigerator at the store. I used Claussen pickles.
  • Lime juice: Freshly squeezed is always best.
  • Tajin: For the rim.

Substitutions & Variations

  • Lime swap: Switch for lemon juice.
  • Mocktail version: Leave out the tequila.
  • Make it spicy: Use spicy pickle juice or add hot sauce or jalapeno slices. My Spicy Watermelon Ranch Water is also delicious.

How to Make This Recipe

Carolyn’s Tips

  • Chill everything: Make sure all your ingredients are ice cold, especially the mineral water.
  • Taste and adjust tanginess: The flavor balance is key here so you want to taste and adjust the ingredients with more or less pickle juice.
  • Add Tajin first: Then open the bottle carefully
