Pickle Martini

If you’re a pickle lover like me, you’re in for a treat! The Dill Pickle Martini is a unique cocktail that combines the classic martini with a twist of tangy dill pickle juice, creating a savory-sour taste. If you’re a pickle skeptic, like my husband, yet enjoy dirty martinis, you may be pleasantly surprised and possibly even converted by this briny beverage! Crafted with a base of gin, a dash of dry vermouth, and a splash of dill pickle juice, this martini offers the ultimate refreshment. If you prefer vodka over gin, feel free to make the switch. For the best flavor, be sure to grab pickles from the refrigerator section at the store. Cheers!

Ingredients for the Dill Pickle Martini

  • Gin: Use your favorite gin or vodka. I like Hendricks for a unique twist.
  • Dry Vermouth: Crafted with a blend of botanicals, herbs, and spices, dry vermouth adds depth and complexity to the cocktail.
  • Dill Pickle Juice: For the salty, briny twist. I prefer using the pickles you find in the refrigerator section of the store instead of shelf stable. I used Grillo’s.
  • Pickles, Fresh Dill: Crisp pickles and aromatic fresh dill bring it all together as a garnish!

How to Make the Dill Pickle Martini

Mixing up the Dill Pickle Martini takes less than 5 minutes and just three ingredients! Start by filling a mixing glass with ice. Next add gin, dry vermouth, and dill pickle juice to the mixing glass. Stir the mixture for 15-20 seconds until well-chilled. Then, strain the concoction into a martini glass. If desired, garnish with pickles and fresh dill.

Why Dill Pickle Juice?

Dill pickles bring a unique zing to the Dill Pickle Martini that sets them apart from other pickle varieties. Dill pickles, with their robust, savory flavor and a touch of herbal dill, harmonize perfectly with the classic martini elements. The tanginess and brininess of dill pickle juice are similar to the olive juice in a dirty martini, offering a distinctive twist that’s easy, fun, and refreshing!
