Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Made with fresh mango: Naturally sweet and intensely fruity.
- Ready in 5 minutes: No blender, shaker, or homemade mango syrup required.
- Perfectly balanced: Sweet mango + tart lime + fresh mint + rum.
- Easy to customize: Fresh or slightly thawed frozen mango both work.
Key Ingredients
See the recipe card for quantities.
- Mango: Ripe mango gives the cocktail natural sweetness and a stronger fresh-fruit flavor (and is the easiest to press/muddle). Use slightly thawed frozen mango, if you can’t find it fresh.
- Fresh mint: Provides the classic mojito flavor and balances the sweetness of the mango.
- White rum: Choose a high quality white rum like Bacardi Superior.
- Lime juice: Fresh is always best!
- Simple syrup: Equal parts sugar and hot water. Use bottled, honey syrup or agave as a substitution.
- Club soda: Adds bubbles and keeps the drink refreshing.

Substitutions & Variations
- Rum swap: Try vodka or gin for lighter or botanical flavors.
- Fruit switch: If you prefer berry-forward cocktails, try strawberries using my Strawberry Mojito Recipe or blueberries using the Creamy Blueberry Mojito Recipe.
- Mocktail version: To skip the buzz, replace the rum with coconut water or chilled hibiscus tea like my Hibiscus Mango Mojito Mocktail Recipe.
How to Make Best Mango Mojito
Step 1: Prep your fruit by cutting the fresh mango into cubes.
Step 2: Remove about 10 mint leaves from sprigs and gently clap them between your palms to release the natural oils.
Step 3: Add mint leaves and simple syrup to a highball glass. Gently muddle to release the mint’s aromatic oils.
Step 4: Then add the cubed mango, white rum and lime juice to the same glass. Gently press the mango with a bar spoon to release its juices. Leave the spoon in the glass for the next step.
Step 5: Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice. Churn the mixture with the bar spoon to combine. Add club soda, then top with more crushed ice.
Step 6: If desired, garnish with a mint sprig, mango slice, and edible flower.

Mango Mojito FAQs
Yes. Let it thaw slightly so it’s soft enough to press with a bar spoon.
White rum is ideal because its clean flavor allows the mango, mint, and lime to shine – Bacardi Superior is a good option.
Omit the rum and consider increasing the club soda or replacing the rum with coconut water or chilled tea.
It’s naturally fruity and lightly sweet, but the lime and mint balance the mango. The sweetness can be adjusted with the simple syrup.
Yes! Multiply the ingredients by the number of servings you need and combine the mint, mango, simple syrup, rum, and lime juice in a pitcher. Gently muddle or press with a muddler or wooden spoon. Add ice and club soda immediately before serving. Divide into glasses over more ice.
