Its creamy texture, combined with the fresh lemon and sparkling prosecco makes this lemonade cocktail so special. The unexpected addition of condensed milk almost reminds me of if lemonade and lemon meringue pie had a baby. It’s so easy to make, but the flavor is layered and special.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It’s bright and bubbly: You get the citrus punch of lemon, the sweetness of limoncello and the lift of prosecco.
  • No shaker needed: You’ll just muddle, pour and sip; this limoncello spritz is seriously low effort.
  • A gorgeous “special occasion” drink: With edible flowers, thyme and citrus, it looks like something from a boutique bar.

Key Ingredients

See the recipe card for quantities.

  • Lemons: Fresh lemons are a must. Go for seedless lemons to make your life easy!
  • Limoncello: Use bottled or make your own with my homemade limoncello recipe. It’s also so good in a limoncello martini!
  • Sweetened condensed milk: Grab a can from the baking aisle. Try it in this Gin Lavender Lemonade too!
  • Prosecco: Remember to chill it first. I used Mionetto Prosecco for this recipe.

Substitutions & Variations

  • Prosecco swap: Swap the prosecco for any dry sparkling wine such as cava, sparkling rose or champagne. If you don’t want to use wine, try my Creamy Limoncello Cocktail with Charred Lemon (Low-Alcohol).
  • Vegan version: Swap the sweetened condensed milk for coconut condensed milk. You can also use cream of coconut, but dilute it with warm water first and adjust the quantity to taste.
  • Mocktail version: Leave out the limoncello and use sparkling lemonade instead of the prosecco.

Carolyn’s Tips for Making Creamy Limoncello Spritz

  • Glasses: Since the lemons require a firm muddle, avoid using a delicate glass. I used this glass. Check out my favorite glasses here
  • Chill prosecco: Cold bubbles keep the Limoncello Spritz crisp!
  • Stir gently: Just a gentle swirl is enough. Over-stirring will flatten the fizz.

Creamy Limoncello Spritz FAQs

Will condensed milk curdle in a Limoncello Spritz?

No, when mixed with limoncello, lemon juice, and chilled prosecco, the sweetened condensed milk emulsifies into a smooth, creamy texture. Stir gently before serving to keep everything well combined.

Can you make a batch of Limoncello Sprit?

Prep ahead: You can prep the lemon and limoncello base ahead of time by muddling the lemon wedges with limoncello and storing it covered in the fridge for up to 6–8 hours.

What type of prosecco works best?

A dry or extra-dry prosecco works beautifully here, as it balances the sweetness of the limoncello and condensed milk while keeping the drink light and refreshing.

Can I make a Creamy Limoncello Spritz less sweet?

Yes, use an extra-dry prosecco and slightly reduce the sweetened condensed milk.

Can I make a batch of Limoncello Spritzes for a party?

Yes! You can easily scale the lemon, limoncello, and sweetened condensed milk ahead of time and store the base in the fridge for up to 6–8 hours. When ready to serve, pour into glasses and top each one with chilled prosecco so the spritz stays bubbly and fresh.
