I’ve got the ultimate bedtime bestie for you – the Hot & Sleepy Girl Mocktail! This cozy concoction blends the best of two worlds: the comforting warmth of a hot drink and the stress-busting benefits of a well-crafted mocktail. I had tart cherry juice, nature’s own melatonin powerhouse, join forces with magnesium, the ultimate chill pill, to help soothe muscles and unwind after a long day! Be sure to use a magnesium powder that can mix with hot liquid according to package instructions.
I used chamomile tea for its relaxing qualities I love before bed, but feel free to use any herbal or decaffeinated tea you have on hand. Fresh mandarin juice adds a burst of brightness and maple syrup balances the tart and tangy flavors of the drink. If you don’t have mandarin, blood orange or tangerine works well as a sub here. Cheers and sweet dreams!
Whipping up this mocktail takes 5 minutes so it’s the perfect way to unwind after a busy day! Start by brewing chamomile tea in your favorite mug. Remove the teabag. Next, add the magnesium powder, cherry juice, mandarin juice, and maple syrup to the mug. Stir gently to combine. For a delicate garnish, add fresh chamomile flowers and a mandarin slice.
Will this mocktail actually make me fall asleep?
While there’s no magic potion for guaranteed slumber, the ingredients in this mocktail can promote relaxation and improve sleep quality.
Where can I find magnesium powder that mixes with hot liquids?
Look for brands specifically labeled as “glycinate” magnesium, as it dissolves more easily in warm water.
Can I swap out the chamomile for another tea?
While chamomile is known for its sleepy vibes, feel free to explore other herbal teas based on your mood and taste buds. Lavender, lemon balm, valerian root, and rosehip are some other suggestions.
