Jump to RecipeWinter can be a bit of a bummer, even in San Diego! Chilly days, short nights, and that constant sniffling. But before I go and hibernate for the next few months, I wanted to share the Grapefruit Rose Mocktail Spritz. Its bright flavors transport me to a sunny summer day with fresh squeezed grapefruit, a dash of rosewater, fruit kombucha, and sparkling water.
I love the versatility of this drink. I used guava dragon fruit kombucha and plain sparkling water, but feel free to mix and match with whatever flavors you enjoy most! Rosewater adds a touch of natural sweetness that balances the tartness of the grapefruit. The pretty grapefruit zest, dried rose petals, and sugar rim ties it all together!
Bringing the Grapefruit Rose Mocktail Spritz to life is a breeze! Start by creating the rim for your glass. Combine grapefruit zest, dried rose petals, and sugar on a shallow dish. Rub a citrus slice along the side of the glass to wet it with juice, then dip it in the sugar mix until coated.
Next, fill the prepared glass with ice. Pour in the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, sparkling water, a dash of rosewater, and the fruity kick of kombucha.
For the finishing touch, garnish the Grapefruit Rose Mocktail Spritz with a slice of grapefruit, adding a burst of color and a hint of extra citrusy goodness!
Can I customize the kombucha flavor in the mocktail?
Yes! The choice of kombucha flavor allows you to tailor the mocktail to your preferences. Whether you prefer the tropical notes of guava and dragon fruit or opt for a different fruity twist, feel free to experiment and discover your perfect combo.
What can I substitute for rosewater?
If you don’t have rosewater on hand, you can substitute it with a small amount of rose extract or omit it altogether. The mocktail will still boast the bright and lively flavors of fresh grapefruit and kombucha.
Can I make this with a different citrus fruit?
While I recommend the bright and zesty flavors of grapefruit, feel free to experiment with other citrus fruits like orange or lemon. Each citrus variation brings its own unique twist to the mocktail.
Can I make a larger batch for a party?
Yes, this mocktail is perfect for entertaining. Simply multiply the ingredients to make a larger batch in advance. Prepare the rimming mixture and have the citrus slices ready, so you can effortlessly assemble and serve the Grapefruit Rose Mocktail Spritz to your guests.
