Who’s ready for all the delicious spring and summer produce?! As someone who loves creating new recipes (especially cocktails), I get so excited when I start seeing produce like peaches, plums and melons in the grocery store. Can you relate?!
Recently, I picked up some fresh honeydew melons and I knew I had to make something super refreshing, exciting, and original… Cue the Honeydew Margarita! A blend of ripe melon, fresh lime juice, honey, and you can’t forget the tequila! This libation hits all the right flavor notes – it’s citrusy, tart, and refreshing. Plus I used Local Hive™ Honey for the perfect amount of sweetness.

So, get your shaker ready and mix together your fresh honeydew and Local Hive™ Honey Orange Blossom Honey puree, your preferred tequila (I like using Blanco tequila), and fresh lime juice! And it’s optional but highly recommended to include a chili-lime salt rim with a beautiful edible flower garnish. Equipment
- Blender
- Cocktail shaker
- Glasses
Materials
- ½ cup fresh honeydew balls or cubes
- 2 tbsp Local Hive™ Honey Orange Blossom Honey
- 4 oz tequila
- Juice of 1 large lime (about 1 ½ oz)
- Chili salt for rim
- Garnish: edible flower and lime slice
Instructions
- Prepare 2 cocktail glasses with a rim by coating with lime juice and dipping into chili salt.
- Add honeydew and Local Hive™ Honey Orange Blossom Honey to a blender and puree.
- Strain into a cocktail shaker. Add tequila, lime juice and ice and shake.
- Strain into prepared glasses over fresh ice.
- Garnish with lime slices and edible flowers.
