Halloween Mimosa with DIY Ghost Cotton Candy Glitter Bomb
Now that October is here, it’s time for Halloween cocktails like the Blood Orange & Wine Sour, Spooky Sangria and this fun Halloween Mimosa!
This classic mimosa is given a spooky twist with the addition of a DIY ghost glitter bomb made with cotton candy and edible glitter. The disappearing ghost is such a fun touch and perfect for a spooky brunch with friends or family.
Recipe Ingredients
For the Ghost Glitter Bomb:
- White Cotton Candy: I used this birthday cake flavored cotton candy from Chocolate Storybook I found on Amazon.
- Edible Glitter: I like orange or gold edible glitter for drinks for this recipe. I used this orange luster dust.
- Black Gel Icing: Pick a writing gel with a small tip to draw the ghost’s eyes and mouth!
For the Halloween Mimosa:
- Ghost Glitter Bomb: Obviously!
- Prosecco or Champagne: Use your favorite sparkling wine. I used Mionetto Prosecco.
- Orange Juice: I prefer fresh squeezed.
- Pure Vanilla Extract: I used homemade but any pure vanilla extract will do. Avoid imitation.
How to Make the Halloween Mimosa
For the Ghost Glitter Bomb:
First take white cotton candy and sculpt it into a ghost or bell shape. Leave the bottom slightly hollow and allow excess cotton candy to hang on the bottom.
Inside the hollowed center, add a small scoop of edible orange luster dust for a burst of shimmer. Gently press the excess cotton candy to seal in the luster dust.
Finally, with a black decorating gel icing tube featuring a fine tip, give the ghost its two eyes and a mouth. Your phantom is ready to make its debut!
For the Mimosa:
Start by pouring prosecco or champagne in a champagne flute. Drop the Ghost Glitter Bomb into the glass and watch it transform as it dissolves.
Top with fresh orange juice and a dash of pure vanilla extract before enjoying!
