Recipe Ingredients
See the recipe card for quantities.
- Blackberries: Fresh blackberries or your berry of choice.
- Blood orange: We’ll use for juice and slices. Navel oranges would also work.
- Elderflower liqueur: St. Germain is a great choice. If you don’t have elderflower liqueur, triple sec is a good replacement.
- Pomegranate juice: Look for 100% juice
- Red wine: Spanish wine like Tempranillo or Garnacha are favorites for red sangria. Pick your favorite fruity red with low tannins.
- Dry ice: Optional for spooky presentation!

How to Make This Recipe
Step 1: Rinse and prep your fruit. Slice and juice the blood orange.
Step 2: Add blackberries, blood orange slices, and elderflower liqueur to a pitcher and gently muddle.
Step 3: Add blood orange juice, pomegranate juice, and red wine. If you have time, let the sangria sit in the refrigerator for the flavors to infuse for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
Step 4: Divide into glasses over ice and enjoy!

Tips for Making Spooky Halloween Sangria
- If time allows, let the sangria sit in the refrigerator for the flavors to infuse for at least 30 minutes to and up to 24 hours.
- Taste your sangria and adjust flavors to your liking.
- Dry ice is fun for presentation but shouldn’t be ingested! Use a small chip of dry ice in your cocktail and wait until it is done smoking and bubbling before drinking.
