If you’re curious about what makes this cocktail really stand out? It’s the Peeps-infused vodka and homemade strawberry syrup. Learn how I crafted these specialty ingredients for the Spiked Strawberry Peeps Soda!
Peeps can be a controversial candy. Some individuals may find the sugary snack to be too sweet, but if you’re a fan (even just for Easter), then you have to try this mixed drink! It’s the perfect blend of sweetness balanced by a delicious strawberry syrup and an effervescent finish from the sparkling water. If you’re intrigued, that means it’s time to try it!
For this cocktail, I used the Pink Peeps Marshmallow Chicks to create the Peeps-infused vodka and the Yellow Peeps Marshmallow Bunnies for the garnish. To create your Peeps-infused vodka, start by adding the Peeps and your preferred vodka (see my recommendations below) to a glass jar and seal tightly. Let the ingredients infuse for a minimum of 2 hours, shaking the jar occasionally. The mixture should turn a pink hue. Finally, strain out the Peeps and store the mixture in an airtight container while you prep the other ingredients. Once your cocktail is complete, add your desired Peep to the top of your cocktail for a finished look!
The Spiked Strawberry Peeps Soda is all about fun ingredients like Peeps, sprinkles, and strawberry syrup! Find out what I used to create this unique cocktail and enjoy it for Easter.
For a strawberry syrup that can be used for cocktails, mocktails, and baking, make this simple strawberry syrup!
Start by adding all ingredients – diced strawberries, granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice to a small saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Next, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool. Strain out strawberries using a mesh strainer and store the syrup in an airtight container. You can store it for up to a few weeks!
Now let’s make some magic! For the Spiked Strawberry Peeps Soda, start by adding the Peeps-infused vodka and strawberry syrup to a tall glass. Fill the glass with ice and then with sparkling water, and stir. Next, top the mixed drink with whipped cream and sprinkles. Garnish with a Peeps candy, if desired. Enjoy!
