Cucumber Vodka Soda

What is a Vodka Soda?

A Vodka Soda is a classic cocktail that’s been around for a while and its popularity never seems to fade. It includes 2 (sometimes 3 ingredients if you include lime juice) that’s lightly carbonated and very refreshing!

This tipple usually consists of 1 part vodka and 2-3 parts club soda. Depending upon how strong you like your drink, you can adjust the club soda accordingly. I love to squeeze in a lime wedge for a slight taste of citrus on the end too.

How to Level Up Your Vodka Soda

This classic cocktail has been my go-to beverage for many nights out. Inclusive of only two ingredients, but it still boasts a lot of character. My advice for enjoying this infamous mixed drink is to use quality vodka because not all vodka is created equal and you may taste the difference. Whether you’re mixing one up from the comfort of your home or ordering from a bar, I prefer to use premium liquor and a classic club soda.

Now, if you want to level up this traditional cocktail, you’re in the right place! I’m all about keeping it simple, so I’ve added a few key ingredients, to give this cocktail more flavor! Enjoy the Cucumber Vodka Soda for a weekend refreshment or a happy hour libation. Either way, it’s the perfect cocktail recipe if you’re wanting to elevate your Vodka Soda.

Ingredients for the Cucumber Vodka Soda

For the Cucumber Vodka Soda recipe, I used 5 ingredients, most of which you may already have in your kitchen. I love this cocktail because of how fresh it tastes and it feels like cucumber juice makes everything a little bit healthier, too! Find out what ingredients I used and some tips and tricks to be aware of when creating this cocktail.

  • Cucumber juice: I used about half of a small, peeled cucumber and juiced it. You can also blend it up and strain it using a fine mesh strainer if you don’t have a juicer.
  • Vodka: Like I previously mentioned, opt for a premium vodka for this recipe. I tend to use Grey Goose or Belvedere because they’re the smoothest, but if you don’t want to spend too much money, then Ketel One is a great alternative.
  • Lime juice: a squeeze of fresh lime juice will bring some tart notes to this cocktail but balance beautifully with the sweetness from the honey.
  • Honey syrup: for a touch of sweetness add a little bit of honey, alternatively you can use agave syrup or simple syrup instead. If you prefer your cocktails sweeter, adjust accordingly using the honey.
  • Club soda: a splash of club soda will give you that bubbly finish and I recommend sticking with a traditional club soda versus opting for a flavored sparkling water.
  • Garnish: add a cucumber slice, sprig of mint, and edible flowers for a gorgeous finished look.

Now that you have your ingredients ready, grab your materials, and let’s make this tasty cocktail!

How to Make the Cucumber Vodka Soda

For this recipe, there’s only a couple of steps, and making the cucumber juice will be the majority of your prep time. To make the cucumber juice, cube half a small, peeled cucumber and blend it up until smooth. Add a splash of water if necessary for smoothness. Strain out the pulp with a fine mesh strainer over a measuring cup. You can use something like this to strain.

Add cucumber juice, vodka, lime juice, and honey syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Divide into 2 cocktail glasses filled with ice. Fill each glass with club soda and stir. Garnish with a cucumber slice, mint sprig, and edible flower.
