Pickle 75 (Best Pickle Juice Cocktail)
I’m obsessed with pickles so I’m always thinking up ways to mix up pickles into my favorite type of cocktails like the Spicy Pickle Bloody Mary, Pickle Martini, or Spicy Pickle Margarita. The pickle juice tastes really balanced in this riff on a French 75 and I definitely don’t feel like it overpowers the drink.
This would work well as a brunch drink when you can’t decide between a mimosa and a Bloody Mary. It’s light and refreshing like a mimosa, while also being tangy and briny when you’re craving a more salty or savory cocktail.
I also love the versatility of this cocktail – tequila, gin, or vodka would work well as the main spirit here. If you’ve got the prep time, I definitely recommend making the pickle ice cubes for an added kick to this pickle cocktail!
Recipe Ingredients
- Tequila, Gin or Vodka: Opt for a good quality, smooth spirit. I like Cazadores tequila.
- Pickle Juice: Choose pickles in the refrigerator section of the grocery store (instead of on the shelf). I like Grillo’s or Claussen. Try with spicy pickles for an extra kick of heat.
- Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed is always best.
- Simple Syrup: Homemade or store bought.
- Champagne: Your favorite bubbly!
- Tajin: For the rim.

What’s the best type of liquor to use?
Gin has a more botanical flavor that complements the pickle juice. Vodka has a more neutral, cleaner taste. Tequila is more agave-forward. Choose whichever one you prefer in most of your cocktails!
