Midnight Margarita (Easy Halloween Margarita)

The Midnight Margarita is the perfect drink for spooky celebrations! This Halloween margarita comes together in just five minutes and is a fun, festive twist on the classic margarita with the addition of edible glitter and butterfly pea powder. It’s been a favorite along with the Non-Alcoholic Witch’s Brew Mojito Punch, Halloween Mimosa with DIY Ghost Cotton Candy Glitter Bomb, and Blood Orange & Wine Sour Cocktail this spooky season!

Recipe Ingredients

  • Tequila: Opt for your favorite good quality tequila. I used Cazadores Blanco.
  • Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • Agave Nectar: You can also use honey or simple syrup
  • Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice: Fresh squeezed is always best!
  • Butterfly pea powder: This is optional but gives the drink its fun color. I used this one. Play with the quantity of powder to give the drink different looks.
  • Edible glitter dust
  • Fresh blackberries: I like Driscoll’s.
  • Black salt: For the rim. Kosher or sea salt also work.
  • Dehydrated Lime Slice: For garnish.

Sipping Tips & Tricks

What Does Butterfly Pea Powder Taste Like?

It doesn’t add a lot of flavor, I love to use it for its vibrant color! If you decide to leave it out, it’ll be a more traditional blackberry margarita.

What Kind of Tequila Should I Use?

I recommend a blanco tequila, but feel free to try this with reposado or añejo.

How Sweet is This Margarita?

I love this Haloowen tequila cocktail because it’s balanced with fresh squeezed lime juice and a touch of agave nectar, so it’s not overly sweet. Adjust the sweetness to your liking!

How Do I Dehydrate a Lime Wedge?

It’s super easy, just set aside some time to make it! Slice a lime thinly. Place slices on a baking sheet. (Lowest oven temp, 2-4 hours) OR Place in a dehydrator. (125-135°F, 8-12 hours). Cool completely.
