Winter Kringle Colada
This Kringle Colada recipe post was made in partnership with Kinky Beverages. Recipe and ideas are my own.
The past few weeks have included a lot of rain for us Southern California folk. Everyone who is from here always says the rain is a good thing – and I of course know it’s essential for preventing drought – but I’m from the East Coast and it reminds me a little too much of the less than ideal weather at home.
Since human nature seems to work this way, I always crave sunshine and warm weather when it’s rainy. We always want what we can’t have. But I think I’ve created a cocktail that’ll make you feel like you’re on a beach, even though it’s still winter time.
Meet the winterized Kringle Colada! A seasonal take on a piña colada made with Kinky Beverages “Aloha,” a tropical liqueur with hints of coconut, pineapple, and lime.
I combined the Aloha liqueur with Plantation dark rum and coconut cream to replicate the creaminess of your traditional piña colada. To give this drink a wintery feel, I used allspice bitters and nutmeg for a garnish!
For anyone who is lamenting the fact that Winter just started, whip up one of these Kringle Coladas and it’ll wipe your sadness away! Warning: these are so tasty, you might need to have more than one!
