The Tropical Heat Spicy Mocktail is an easy-to-sip drink that is spritzy, spicy, and super easy to make.

Right now, I’m on the hunt for fun mocktails to quench my pregnancy cravings. This one ticks all the boxes! Made with fresh jalapenos, pineapple coconut juice, fresh blood orange and lime sparkling water, this drink is a little spicy, a little sweet, with some tartness to balance it all out.

Tropical heat cocktail in a wavy glass with ice, garnished with a dried citrus slice, yellow edible flower, and a pineapple leaf, served on a textured amber coaster.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Jalapeño slices: Use fresh slices for a crisp, vibrant heat, adjusting the quantity depending on how spicy you like it.
  • Pineapple coconut juice: Langers Farm has the creamiest juice that is so perfect in this. If you don’t have pineapple coconut juice, substitute for pineapple and add a splash of coconut milk or coconut water.
  • Blood orange juice: This juice adds the most delicious and unique citrusy flavor, making this spicy mocktail even more complex.
  • Lime sparkling water: I used the lime sparkling water from LaCroix Sparkling Water. I’m obsessed with how FRESH its flavor is.
  • Dehydrated pineapple, Pineapple frond, Edible flower: for garnish.

Sipping Tips & FAQs

Adjust how spicy it is
Muddle the jalapeño slices gently for a milder heat, or muddle more aggressively if you prefer a stronger kick. You can also remove the seeds for less intensity.

Chill your glass
I love to chill the cocktail glass in the freezer before making my blood orange mocktail mix.

Can I batch-make this mocktail?
Yes! To make a larger batch, combine the pineapple coconut juice, blood orange juice, and muddled jalapeño slices (without the ice or club soda) in a pitcher. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When ready to serve, pour over ice and top with sparkling lime water, then garnish just before serving.

Can I drink this spicy mocktail while pregnant?
Yup! As long as you can handle the little hit from the jalapeno.

What can I use instead of sparkling lime water?
If you don’t have lime sparkling water, you can swap it with club soda and a splash of fresh lime juice. You’ll get a similar refreshing, fizzy effect in your spicy pineapple mocktail.

Make Ahead and Storage Notes

You can mix the pineapple coconut juice, blood orange juice, and muddled jalapeños ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Be warned, the jalapenos will infuse in the drink and get spicier the longer you store.

Add the sparkling lime water, ice, and garnishes just before serving so your spicy mocktail stays fresh and fizzy!
