Sweet Le-Mom Spritz

This delightful spritz combines the crispness of Lillet Blanc and gin with the zesty tang of lemon Italian soda and lemon juice.

Sweet Le-Mom Spritz

When it comes to mixing up cocktails, one creation that continues to be a favorite long after Mother’s Day is the Sweet Le-Mom Spritz. It became a staple in my cocktail repertoire, especially during my new mom era, where I find myself gravitating towards lighter, low-ABV options.

This show-stopping cocktail is made with Lillet Blanc, gin, lemon Italian soda and fresh lemon juice. And its upgraded by butterfly pea tea ice cubes and fresh diced red dragon fruit. Even though its presentation is a bit over the top, it’s actually super easy to make. With its pretty pink hue and refreshing burst of sweetness from red dragon fruit, the Sweet Le-Mom Spritz is perfect to sip on for the new Barbie movie! Just like the Beach Barbie Cocktail, this spritz captures the essence of fun and flair. Cheers!

What is Lillet Blanc?

Lillet Blanc is a French aperitif white wine that takes center stage in the Sweet Le-Mom Spritz. It’s made from a blend of wine, fruit liqueurs, and herbs, giving it a unique and aromatic profile. The subtle sweetness and crispness of Lillet Blanc perfectly complement the other ingredients in the Sweet Le-Mom Spritz for a refreshing and vibrant cocktail.

Ingredients for the Sweet Le-Mom Spritz

  • Lillet Blanc: This French aperitif wine adds a delicate and slightly sweet flavor to the drink.
  • Gin: Choose your favorite gin to infuse the cocktail with its distinctive botanical notes. I used You & Yours Sunday Gin.
  • Lemon Italian soda: The effervescence and bright lemony taste add a refreshing twist. I used San Pellegrino. You can substitute sparkling lemonade or lemon-lime soda.
  • Lemon juice: A squeeze of fresh lemon juice adds a tangy kick.
  • Red dragon fruit: The juicy and subtly sweet dragon fruit adds a tropical touch. I used red dragon fruit but white dragon fruit or kiwi would also work.
  • Butterfly pea flower ice spheres (optional): These ice spheres, made with chilled butterfly pea flower tea, bring a whimsical element to the cocktail.
  • Garnish: Lemon round and edible flowers add a simple and fresh garnish.

How to Make the Sweet Le-Mom Spritz

Now let’s dive into crafting this tantalizing drink!

First, add chilled butterfly pea flower tea to an ice cube mold and freeze until solid. Fill a cocktail glass with the butterfly pea flower ice spheres. Add Lillet Blanc, gin, lemon Italian soda, and lemon juice to the glass and stir to combine.

Next, peel and dice the dragon fruit into small cubes. Gently place the diced dragon fruit into the glass. To finish, garnish with a lemon round and edible flowers.
