Jump to RecipeGet ready for the ultimate Super Bowl treat – the Sideline Shooters! These football-themed shooters are not only a fun addition to your game day spread but also a tasty way to celebrate every score. I created these with precision, but these shooters are the brainchild of my hubs Travis, and they promise to jazz up your Super Bowl spread. Use your favorite whiskey, and if you don’t have amaretto consider using almond extract or orgeat syrup as a substitute in your Sideline Shooters. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste.
The combo of Cadbury Creme Eggs, Rye whiskey, Amaretto, and a touch of white decorating gel icing creates a unique and delightful concoction. As you sip, savor, or shoot the Sideline Shooters, you’ll find yourself in the midst of a flavor touchdown!
Crafting these Sideline Shooters is a breeze, so you’ll spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the game!
Start by carefully cutting the top off each Cadbury Creme Egg with a sharp knife. Use the back of a small spoon to scoop out most of the cream filling, creating a hollow chocolate vessel. Next, pipe a line of white decorating gel icing across the length of each egg, adding several small lines to mimic football stitching.
Now, it’s time to fill each chocolate football with a combination of Rye whiskey and Amaretto. Pour equal parts into each egg.
To fully enjoy the Sideline Shooters, take a sip of the delicious concoction and follow it up with a bite of the chocolate football!
Why Cadbury Creme Eggs?
Cadbury Creme Eggs serve as the perfect vessel for these Sideline Shooters, providing a delectable chocolate shell and a creamy interior. The combination of chocolate and the football-themed icing adds a playful and delicious touch to your Super Bowl celebration!
Can I use different whiskey and amaretto brands?
While we recommend the boldness of Bulleit Rye and the sweetness of Disaronno Amaretto, feel free to experiment with other whiskey and amaretto brands to suit your preferences. The key is to find a balance that enhances the overall flavor profile of the Sideline Shooters.
Is there a substitute for white decorating gel icing?
If you can’t find white decorating gel icing, you can get creative with alternatives. Melted white chocolate or vanilla icing can be piped onto the Cadbury Creme Eggs to achieve a similar football stitching effect. The goal is to add that finishing touch for the ultimate game day presentation.
