Jump to RecipeCraving a mixed drink that’s packed with spicy, sweet, and tart flavors? This cocktail is for you! Made with only one ingredient, FLYBIRD’s Spicy Tamarind Mangonada ready-to-drink cocktail, it’s the easiest way to enjoy a drink. P.S. keep reading to see how I upgraded mine with a gorgeous mango flower garnish and spicy, zesty rim for the ultimate Mangonada experience!
This unique drink originates from Mexico where it can be found at most ice cream shops and street vendors during the hot, sticky summer months. And with the Mangonada gaining popularity in the United States, it’s starting to show up more here as well!
The Mangnonada which is often referred to as a Chamango is similar to a mango sorbet or puree which features tajin, chamoy, and is usually topped with a tamarind straw or chopped up mangos.
This is so simple because FLYBIRD’s Spicy Tamarind Mangonada is already mixed together in a bottle, so all you have to do is grab your glass with ice, pour, and enjoy!
It’s optional but highly recommended to add the tajin and chamoy rim and top with this pretty mango flower garnish and tamarind straw. To add these elements, start by grabbing your cocktail glass and rimming it with chamoy in a shallow dish. Once it’s coated, dip the glass in another shallow dish with tajin, and then add in your ice. Next, take your bottle of Spicy Tamarind Mangonada and pour it over the ice. Add your mango flower garnish and tamarind straw last.
The perfect Flybird Mangonada deserves the perfect garnish! To make the mango flower garnish, start by peeling a mango and cutting it in half (long ways). Then, thinly slice it, starting from the top of the mango. Push the mango slices so they’re arranged almost in a line and start to roll them inwards to create a flower. Pin the mango flower with a cocktail pick or toothpick, so it stays. Add the tamarind straw and any additional mango slices, if desired.
FLYBIRD has a wide range of delicious cocktails including but not limited to Baja Lime, Watermelon Cucumber, and Prickly Pear. The Spicy Tamarind Mangonada flavor is one of the most unique and refreshing for the summer. It’s made in Mexico with 100% blue weber agave wine, all-natural mango, tamarind, and chile de arbol flavors. Enjoy the convenience of FLYBIRD’s cocktails too. Simply twist, pour over ice, garnish, and sip – that’s it!
