Jump to RecipeWhat recipe are you enjoying for National Watermelon Day? The Watermelon Basil Mocktail is the ideal drink to sip on for the occasion! It’s easy to make and non-alcoholic. This watermelon mocktail is mixed with a blend of fresh ingredients like watermelon juice, lime juice, basil, honey syrup, and cucumber sparkling water. P.S don’t forget to pair this pretty mocktail with some other watermelon favorites, like this Voluspa Candle in the Kalahari Watermelon Fragrance which inspired this drink. It has a refreshing scent of wild watermelon, crisp cucumber, and earthy basil, with a dash of white cardamom and lime zest. Check out more of Voluspa’s candles here!
I love making this Watermelon Basil Mocktail because it gives me an excuse to make homemade watermelon juice. If you want to make yours from scratch too, cut your watermelon into cubes and add it to a blender. Next, blend it up until smooth. Use a mesh strainer over a pitcher and pour the watermelon mixture through the strainer. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, press any excess juice through. Pour the watermelon juice into an airtight, sealable jar and use it over the next few days.
Time to make this watermelon mocktail! Start by adding the watermelon juice, smacked basil leaves, lime juice, honey syrup, and aquafaba to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously until the mocktail mixture is foamy. Add cucumber sparkling water to a coupe glass. Strain the mocktail mixture into the glass. If desired, garnish with a watermelon slice and cucumber ribbon. Sprinkle with pink peppercorns.
