Vanilla Pear Smash

As the summer comes to a close and fall is approaching, it’s hard for me to contain my excitement for the change in season! Not only can I start buying fall decor, but also some fall ingredients and produce.  

I’ve been experimenting with some seasonal fruits, such as pears and they pair perfectly in this Vanilla Pear Smash, made with the Double Oaked Irish Whiskey. Enhanced with notes of honey, creamy vanilla, and light oak spices that make this whiskey come alive. This premium spirit is distilled by Whistler Irish Whiskey, from the Boann Distillery.

The distillery is rooted in Boyne Valley, the ancient capital of Ireland. They’re family-owned and operated, and making big waves with their premium whiskey expressions in the American market! The hand-crafted whiskey is made in small batches using some of Ireland’s finest malt and grain whiskeys. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then transferred into Oloroso Sherry casks to create the full-bodied essence. Check out their selection of Irish Whiskey here. Vanilla Pear Smash

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Strainer


  • 2 oz The Whistler Double Oaked Irish Whiskey
  • ¼ cup ripe pear cubes
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 smidge vanilla bean paste
  • ½ oz maple syrup
  • 1 lemon round, pear slice, and vanilla bean (for garnish)


  • Add pear, lemon juice and vanilla to a cocktail shaker and muddle.
  • Add The Whistler Double Oaked Irish Whiskey, maple syrup and ice and shake. Strain into a cocktail glass over ice.
  • Garnish with a lemon slice, pear slice and vanilla bean.
