What is a Paloma?

A paloma is a refreshing tequila-based cocktail. And it just so happens to be the most popular tequila cocktail in Mexico… That’s right, even more popular than the beloved Margarita. There are many different paloma variations. But it’s always made with tequila, grapefruit and lime and sometimes finished off with a salt rim.

There are many theories about this cocktail’s origins, but guides suggest that this cocktail was created by infamous bartender and bar owner, Don Javier Delgado Corona in Tequila, Mexico in the early 1860s.

It’s no surprise that the Paloma is the most popular cocktail in Mexico. It’s salty, sweet, and tart. It hits all the right flavor notes for a refreshing mixed drink, and it’s especially delicious in the heat of the summer!

How to Make A Frozen Strawberry Paloma

For the Frozen Strawberry Paloma, you’ll need frozen strawberries, grapefruit juice, agave syrup, a squeeze of lime juice and Exotico Reposado Tequila!

To make it, all you need to do is add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. This recipe can also easily be doubled or tripled to serve a larger group. Just make sure to enjoy it immediately!

For this cocktail, tequila is the most important ingredient, so it’s imperative to pick one that is smooth. And the Exotico Reposado Tequila does just that and some! It shines so well in this cocktail and balances with the other flavors for a perfect frozen treat. The Exotico Reposado Tequila is 40% ABV and is 80 proof. This tequila undergoes a process of allowing 100% Premium Blue Agave tequila to rest for six months in white oak bourbon barrels creating an enhanced, yet mellow flavor. For more information on this procedure, check out Exotico’s full process!

Crafted in the beautiful region of Jalisco, this tequila is a blend of vanilla, dry fruit and spices, with a finish of oak and vanilla as well as hints of caramel and cinnamon. To the nose, this tequila has an aroma of vanilla notes, spices, dried fruits with an oak and wood finish.
