Father’s Day Cocktail: Grilled Peach Old Fashioned
This Peach Old Fashioned post was made in partnership with Glen Moray. All recipes and opinions are my own.
Tomorrow is Father’s Day and that calls for a good, stiff drink! I’m not sure how it happened that mothers get eggs and pancakes and dads get grilled meat, but somehow that seems to be the trend. If you’re going to have your grill fired up for Father’s Day, you should grill up some peaches and make an old fashioned!
I love when good peaches start showing up at the market because it means summer is finally (or almost) here! This Grilled Peach Old Fashioned works best with ripe and juicy peaches. I used Glen Moray Single Malt Scotch Whisky Sherry Cask Finish in my drink. The single malt Scotch whisky is finished in sherry casks which gives it notes of dry fruit and caramel spice. It pairs perfectly with the smoke from the grill and the ripe peach flavors.
When making an old fashioned, quality of ingredients makes a big difference. I used La Perruche Brown Sugar Cubes and Hella Cocktail Co. Citrus Bitters along with the Glen Moray Sherry Cask Finish.
These would make the perfect end to a day spent with dad and I promise that he won’t be mad that peaches are taking up space on the grill!
