The Peach Limoncello Bourbon Sour

Where are my bourbon lovers at? The Peach Limoncello Bourbon Sour is going to be your new signature, summer cocktail because it hits alllllll the flavor notes. Smooth, slightly sweet, and citrusy for a bold yet balanced cocktail. Plus, nothing says summer like a peach and limoncello in one mixed drink!

I may not be able to enjoy some of my favorite libations while I’m pregnant, but I still get to mix them up for my husband, Travis, and he’s rated this recipe a 10 out of 10. He keeps asking me when I’ll make it again, so the Peach Limoncello Bourbon Sour is on the menu for him this Father’s Day!

What’s a Bourbon Sour?

A Bourbon or Whiskey Sour is traditionally made with a warming whiskey or bright bourbon, fresh citrus juice, simple syrup, and it’s optional to add an egg white for texture. For this recipe, I opted out because I didn’t want to take away from the other amazing ingredients. To elevate your Whiskey Sour add in a quality bourbon, a refreshing limoncello, organic maple syrup, and fresh peach to give this classic cocktail a major summer upgrade!

Ingredients for the Peach Limoncello Bourbon Sour

See what 5 ingredients I used to mix together the Peach Limoncello Bourbon Sour.

  • Peach: for this recipe, cut up a ripe peach into chunks with the skin on. *Pro-tip: if you want your whole peaches to ripen faster, add them to a brown bag and they should be ready for use in a day or two.
  • Bourbon: I used Bulleit Bourbon for this recipe but your preferred brand of bourbon will work!
  • Limoncello: I used my favorite brand of Limoncello, Il Tramonto Limoncello. It has bright, refreshing lemon flavors that will really make this cocktail shine.
  • Lemon: squeeze in some fresh lemon juice which will balance out the sweetness from the maple syrup and the bold flavors from the bourbon.
  • Maple syrup:  add in a little bit of maple syrup for some sweeter notes. I used Parker’s Maple Syrup because it’s real, organic, and can be used for baking and cooking. For those that enjoy this cocktail a little more tart, feel free to reduce the amount of maple syrup that you add-in.
  • Garnish: for the final touch, add a sprig of sage and some peach slices as your garnish. I used a cocktail pick to secure the peach slices on top of the cocktail.

How To Make a Peach Limoncello Bourbon Sour

To make the Peach Limoncello Bourbon Sour, start by adding peach chunks to a cocktail shaker and muddle until broken down. Side note: I used a peach that was riper because it was easier to muddle and it was sweeter which balanced well with the bourbon and lemon juice.

Next, add your preferred brand of bourbon, limoncello, lemon juice, maple syrup, and ice to your cocktail shaker. Shake until the outside is chilled.

Then, strain the cocktail mixture into a cocktail glass over fresh ice. If desired, garnish with peach slices and a sage sprig. Enjoy!
