Combine salt, sugar and cinnamon on a shallow dish. Brush maple syrup on the rim of a cocktail glass. Dip in rimming mixture until coated.
Slice fig in half and add to a cocktail shaker. Muddle until fig is broken down. Add tequila, lime juice and maple syrup. Shake (without ice). Use a fine mesh strainer to remove fig solids from cocktail. Return the cocktail to shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
Fill prepared glass with ice. Strain cocktail mixture into the glass. If desired, garnish with a lime wheel and fig.
