This Cardamom Grapefruit Gin and Tonic is made with Empress Gin, grapefruit juice, lime juice, cardamom syrup, and tonic water for a refreshing riff on a traditional cocktail.

Ingredients
For the Cardamom Grapefruit Gin and Tonic

Empress 1908 Gin
2
oz
fresh grapefruit juice
½
oz
lime juice
½
oz
cardamom syrup

oz
tonic water
Garnish: grapefruit wedge or wheel, sage leaf
For the Cardamom Syrup
½
cup
honey
½
cup
water

tbsp
cardamom pods, crushed
Instructions
For the Cardamom Grapefruit Gin and Tonic
Add grapefruit juice, lime juice, and cardamom syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until chilled.
Fill a tall cocktail glass with ice. Strain the mixture into the glass. Slowly pour Empress Gin 1908 into the glass. Fill the glass with tonic water.
Garnish with a grapefruit slice and sage, if desired. Stir before enjoying.
For the Cardamom Syrup
Toast the cardamom in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add honey and water and stir. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove from heat and cool completely. Strain into a glass jar.
