St. Paddy’s Day Cocktails to Make at Home This Year

St. Paddy’s Day is finally here, and what better way to celebrate than by whipping up a few cocktails at home with family and friends? If you’re spending the holiday at home for the first time in a while, get excited, because you now have three amazing options for fresh and easy cocktails that take less than 5 minutes to make!

Basil Julep

A mint julep but with basil instead! This three-ingredient cocktail features The Whistler Double Oaked Irish Whiskey. Try and find a cocktail easier to make than this!

Basil Julep

Equipment

  • Double Old Fashioned Glass
  • Muddler

Materials

  • 6 leaves fresh basil (plus more for garnish)
  • ¾ oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz The Whistler Whiskey Double Oaked Irish Whiskey

Instructions

  • Add basil and simple syrup to a double old fashioned glass and muddle.
  • Add The Whistler Double Oaked Irish Whiskey. Fill with crushed ice and stir.
  • Garnish with fresh basil.

Whistling Grasshopper

I simply can never get enough of the mint and chocolate combination! One of my favorite desserts as a kid was Grasshopper themed desserts. This cocktail is basically the dessert in liquid form, using The Whistler’s Whiskey Cream.

‘Whistling Grasshopper’ Irish Cream Cocktail

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Coupe

Materials

  • 2 oz The Whistler Whiskey Irish Cream
  • 1 ½ oz Crème de menthe
  • ½ oz amaro
  • shaved chocolate (for garnish)
  • 1 sprig fresh mint (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Add The Whistler Irish Cream, Crème de Menthe and Amaro to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously.
  • Strain into a coupe. Top with shaved chocolate and garnish with a mint leaf.

Pot of Gold

The color of this Ginger Turmeric Pot of Gold is stunning! Based on the classic Pot of Gold cocktail, this version features a homemade ginger turmeric simple syrup, and a combination of The Whistler Double Oaked and Irish Honey Whiskeys.

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer

Materials

  • 1 ½ oz The Whistler Double Oaked Irish Whiskey
  • ¾ oz The Whistler Irish Honey Whiskey
  • ½ oz ginger turmeric simple syrup
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • edible gold flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake (no ice).
  • Add ice and shake until chilled.
  • Strain into a glass over ice. Garnish with edible gold flakes if you’re feeling festive!
